2019.

Hi, welcome to Sofa Moolah. Sofa Moolah is a blog about dealing with sobriety; a way to force myself to stay accountable so that I don’t relapse. Started in 2012 it has been successful in every conceivable way with the main contributors not having touched addictive substances since inception. Oh wait, no, that doesn’t sound right.

Sofa Moolah was originally created as a way for Dan & I to write about entrepreneurship and making money online. Young, naive and plenty of ideas to write about. Is it ironic that as we get older our ideas become scarce and attention turned to other things we found important? Talk to me about the one constant in my life for the past 5 years and I wont tell you about a partner. I wont talk about a business that is growing. What I can talk about is the dependence on a substance that has the potential to send people to early graves. Was Sofa Moolah created as a diary entry for when I inevitably cash out early? I hope not.

What I hope is that I can take this entry and talk briefly about what I’ve got going on. Let’s talk about making money online and entrepreneurship. Below you will find the 4 projects that are currently active:

  • Wacky Waving Man
  • Upstart Web / Freelancing
  • Upstart Host
  • Knock Off Time

Let’s go through them quickly.

  • Wacky Waving Man

This is my largest project in the past few years. Despite cunts ripping off my idea and creating an inferior product, I’ve still invested just under $6,000 on it to date. I still need to inject a few thousand dollars into it to get a working prototype but I’m hopeful that once I do I’ll have something that is ready for market. Maybe by the end of 2019 I’ll have something that can generate some money.

  • Upstart Web / Freelancing

This is quite obvious. Bills need to be paid and so I took on freelance work. I have very little skills so I opted to build websites for small businesses. We make about $1,000/week so its worthwhile for the time being.

  • Upstart Host

The businesses I build websites for need domains & hosting. After a few months I decided why not offer it myself. Dan & I have a reseller server and make about $500/month with close to 50 active clients.

  • Knock Off Time

I literally started this tonight. It’s a fun project and hopefully it will get me back into the groove of creating products. It’ll be a website where you can find fun drinking games for movies & TV shows. Not the best niche, but whatever.

It’s tough writing this at 11:00pm on a Saturday night, but let’s hope that similar blog posts are coming in the future. Maybe even with increased revenue, more projects or less dependencies.
